NamO CAD SU is a free plugin that allows you to quickly paste objects from a CAD drawing (you must first use Ctrl+C in CAD). The import process is very fast, and the plugin includes a feature to flatten CAD geometry to a uniform Z-elevation, preventing line displacement that would otherwise result in incorrect heights.
